(Madison, Ind.) – Due to the current conditions concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, The Nights Before Christmas Candlelight Tour of Homes Committee members have decided to postpone this year’s tour to 2021.
The tour of homes is a yearly event that is attended yearly by 3,000 to 3,500 people over two weeks. This event features private homes, historic sites, a local church, and a museum.
“We made this decision with heavy hearts, but believe it is the best decision for the safety of our homeowners, volunteers, and our community,” stated Marci Jones, Tour Coordinator.
The Great Cookie Caper will also be postponed due to health concerns. The Cookie Caper is an event that is held in conjunction with the Candlelight Tour.
Each year, a different charitable organization is selected to be the recipient of all of the proceeds from the event. The selected organization must provide half of the cookies as well as staff the event and handle all clean-up aspects. In the nine years of its existence, the Cookie Caper has raised nearly $31,000 for local organizations.
The dates for the 2021 tour are November 26 & 27 and December 3 & 4.
