A 2000 F-350 Ford pickup truck pulling a trailer, driven by Casey Owens, 26 of North Vernon was stopped on US 50 facing west, waiting on traffic to clear so he could turn left into Biehle Electric parking lot. A Tractor trailer (semi) driven by Nathaniel Cole III, 38 of Spring, TX was stopped behind the F-350 pickup truck when a cement mixer truck driven by Derick Pendleton, 34 of North Vernon failed to stop and rear ended the tractor trailer, pushing the tractor trailer into the F-350 pickup truck. The impact caused some of the concrete to spill from the mixing tank and onto the highway.

Derick Pendleton was transported by Rescue 20 from the scene to Schneck Medical Center Emergency Room with minor injuries.

US 50 was shut down from 8:43am to 11:24am

31 Wrecker towed the cement mixer and tractor trailer.
