Fatal Collision in Owen County, Victims Identified
Perry Park, Ky (February 7th, 2018) – The Kentucky State Police is investigating a fatal collision involving two vehicles on KY HWY 355 in Owen County, KY.
On February 7th, 2018 at approximately 11:40 a.m., Kentucky State Police Post 5 received a 911 call in reference to a two vehicle collision on KY HWY 355 near the intersection with KY HWY 325.
Preliminary investigation determined that one of vehicles was traveling north on KY HWY 355 when for undetermined reasons, the vehicle left the outside edge of the roadway. The vehicle then traveled into the oncoming lane upon reentering the roadway. The other vehicle involved was traveling southbound in the opposite direction and collided with the vehicle once it entered its lane of travel. As a result of the collision the southbound vehicle overturned and caught fire. The northbound vehicle overturned and traveled down an embankment where it came to rest in a field.
The single occupant of the northbound vehicle and the two occupants of the southbound vehicle were pronounced deceased on scene by the Owen County Coroner. The driver of the northbound vehicle was identified as Hobert Humphrey, a 56 year old male from Perry Park, KY. The occupants of the southbound vehicle were identified as David Harrison, a 62 old male and Sheryl Harrison, a 61 year old female from Perry Park, KY. Next of kin has been notified for all three victims.
The three decedents were scheduled for autopsies on February 8th through the Medical Examiner’s Office located in Frankfort, KY.
The collision remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police who were assisted on scene by New Liberty Fire Department, Owen County EMS, Owen County Sheriff’s Office Owen County Emergency Management and the Owen County Coroner’s Office.
