Walton-Verona over Trimble Co. 56-0
Bedford-North Lawrence defeats Madison 49-0
Madison lost another QB as Bryce Foy suffered a broken collarbone in the first quarter
North Decatur over Switzerland Co. 40-2.
With 3:47 to go in the first quarter, Switzerland Co. freshman, Colton Schirmer suffered a head injury. Shirmer had to be life lined to Riley’s Hospital in Indianapolis with the injury. According to the SC Pacer Football Facebook, “Colton is headed into surgery to help repair the fractures to his spine. He has regained some movement, but is still limited. The hope is that the surgery will relieve the pressure the fracture is causing and help him regain more mobility. He is looking at a minimum two week stay here at Riley’s. He is holding strong and even asked his mom if he can play football next year.” Early Saturday morning they posted, “Colton came out of surgery better than expected. They were able to relieve the pressure on his spine, caused by the fractures, which is allowing him to regain more feeling. He will be in ICU for about a week to closely monitor his recovery.” Switzerland Co. Coach Ryan Jessop posted, “The family appreciates the thoughts, prayers, and well-wishes they have received already. If anyone wants to help out monetarily with travel expenses, gas cards or donations can be dropped off at the HS for the family to use or given to me to pass along to them.”
