Area Sports Results From Thursday, May 18th; Hubbard Advances To Nationals
IHSAA GIRLS TENNIS SECTIONAL SEMI-FINALS AT GREENSBURG:
Shawe moved a step closer to winning their 2nd sectional with a 3-2 win over Jennings County. Lady Topper will take on host Greensburg in the championship tomorrow morning at 10 after the Lady Pirates defeated Southwestern 5-0.
IHSAA BOYS TRACK SECTIONAL AT JEFFERSONVILLE:
The host Red Devils take the sectional title. Switzerland Co. 5th, Madison 6th, Southwestern 10th and Shawe 11th. Southwestern’s Keegan Morris 3rd in the 100, Madison’s Cain Nutley 3rd in the high jump, Gabe Stoll 3rd in the long jump and Switzerland County’s Justin Green 3rd in discus advance to next week’s regional at Bloomington North

Madison defeats Southwestern 3-2
Carroll Co. over Lloyd Memorial 11-1
Spencer Co. defeats Trimble Co. 13-7
HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL:
Southwestern scored 9 runs in the 2nd and 6th innings on their way to a 22-8 win at Jac-Cen-Del. It was the Lady Rebels 20th win of the season.
Shawe defeats Crothersville 21-3 on senior night.
Carroll Co. over Christian Academy of Louisville 10-1.
Hanover College Senior and Southwestern grad, Savanna Hubbard, set a school record in the heptathlon and became only the 3rd women’s track athlete to qualify for the NCAA DIII National Finals. Hubbard will compete next Thursday and Friday in the Nationals in Geneva, Ohio at the Spire Institute.
